When you choose same-day crowns, you come to our office like you would for any other dental visit. As you relax in our comfortable chairs, Dr. Kim, Dr. Yue, or Dr. Dayan prepares your tooth for the crown.
Next, they take an impression of your tooth. Using that impression, the computer-aided design (CAD) system and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) milling system — called the CEREC scanner — creates your personalized crown.
This process usually takes a few hours or less. That means you don’t need to come back to our office on another day to get your crown. You can relax at our office or nearby while we prepare your crown.
This also saves you from spending weeks wearing a temporary crown while an off-site lab creates your crown. You don’t have to deal with an ill-fitting temporary crown, avoiding certain foods and chewing certain ways to keep it in place. Instead, you get your permanent crown the day of your appointment.
Once the CEREC scanner finishes your crown, Dr. Yue, Dr. Kim, or Dr. Dayan bonds it in place. You leave with the protection your teeth need and a complete, beautiful smile.
At our office, our team also uses CEREC to offer same-day onlays. These onlays allow us to fix a minor cavity without impacting the appearance of your smile.
